It is also the last day for students to submit any missing course assignments.

School Council Casino Fundraising Total

The school council’s casino fundraising total is a colossal $ 57,885.51! Thank you once again to all the parent volunteers who helped with this event. The primary beneficiary of this fundraising will be the BCHS Music program. Please attend the School Council meeting on September 2nd, 2025 at 5.30pm to help make decisions about how this money can be spent to better the school experience for all our students.

June 2025 Exam Timetable

Grade 12 students start their exam period in earnest this week; English 30-1 /30-2 Part A is on Wednesday and Social Studies 30-1/30-2 is on Thursday.

Meanwhile Grade 9 continues with PATs: English 9 Part B on Thursday and Math 9 Part A on Friday.

Unless students have an exam they do not need to come to school during exam week.

All exams start at 8.30am. Students need to come prepared with their writing implements, snacks, and water. Cell phones, ear buds, and Smart Watches are not allowed in the exam room. Students must arrive within the first hour of the exam starting or they cannot write.

Please let the school office know if your child is ill prior to the exam.

The exam timetable is shown below and is also available here. Please note:

  • Diploma exam dates are fixed by the province and these exams cannot be taken on another day. Students will need to rebook the exam at an alternative exam centre in August through My Pass.
  • Students missing a PAT may reschedule the test as long as the student writes before June 20

Course Change Requests

Grade 9, 10, and 11 students  received their draft timetables for 2025-2026 last week. Students will have until Friday, June 13th to request course changes so their timetable can be adjusted before summer break. Only Grade 12s may change courses when we return in August. Students in Grades 9-11 must have a full course schedule.

Your Voice Matters!

Canadian Rockies Public Schools is launching its new annual Parent Satisfaction Survey, open between May 22 and June 30, 2025.

Your feedback is essential! Information from this survey will help establish a baseline for measuring the division’s progress toward achieving the goals and outcomes of its new 2025 – 2029 Education Plan. It contains 46 questions and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.

To ensure consistent and meaningful input, parents are asked to complete the survey from the perspective of their oldest child currently attending a CRPS school. The survey must be accessed using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge. All responses are confidential and anonymous.

BCHS Art Awards results

115/172 students voted for their favourite artworks. The “People’s Choice” winner is Kyle Chavez in grade 11 for his acrylic landscape painting titled “Paradise”.

17/18 staff members also voted for their favourite. The “Staff Pick” winner is Tobias Breymann, a grade 12 student, who created “Golden Tempalt,” an acrylic painting of a ship at sea.

Congratulations to all the student artists who participated, and thanks to all who voted! The winners will be acknowledged at our year-end assembly on Friday, June 13.

Summer Work Experience

Is your child interested in earning Work Experience credits for employment during the summer and/or part-time throughout the year?

Students can earn one credit for every 25 hours worked, up to a maximum of 15 credits, which can be applied toward the 100 credits required for graduation. These can be 30 level credits!

If students already have a job secured, register for work experience by June 27th. The following steps outline the registration process:

  1. Student Registration: The student and a parent or guardian must complete the Parent/Guardian & Student Work Experience Registration Form.

  2. Employer Registration: Students should discuss this opportunity with their employer to ensure their support because the employer will be sent an Employer Registration Form (sent directly to them via email) that is similar to the student's registration form. This ensures everyone is aware of what is happening and is on board.

  3. Monthly Submissions: Students will be sent an invitation to join a Google Classroom where they will submit their proof of hours worked and a brief reflection on their experience at the end of each month.

If students are applying for a job but do not have it secured yet. We would love for you to still get credits. Still apply using the directions above as soon as possible and we will try our best to get you registered.

Work experience can conclude at the end of the summer or continue into the school year, depending on the student's ongoing employment and interest in earning additional credits.

If you have any questions, please email us at offcampus@crps.ca for more information.

Lockers and Library Loans

Locker clean-out is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10. Students need to empty their locker and return their lock to the office. After June 23, lockers will be emptied and any
items found inside will be donated to thrift stores over the summer.

All library books and Chromebooks must be returned to the school library by the date students
write their final exam

International Program Host Families Presentation

The school division is seeking Host Families to help support our International Student Program. The district recognises the commitment involved in opening a home to an international student and offers a generous monthly compensation to ensure hosting is a rewarding experience for families without impacting them financially. Each year, BCHS welcomes between 6 - 8 students from around the world, providing an opportunity to enrich our school community with global friendships and cultural exchanges.

If you’re thinking about possibly hosting a student, we encourage families to explore a five month trial period (Sept.- Jan.).  This is a great way to experience the program and see if it’s the right fit for your family. By participating in this program, you and your family will build lifelong friendships with students from around the world, welcome a big brother or big sister into your home, share cultures and traditions, and give these students an opportunity to experience our amazing Rocky Mountains.

If you are interested in hosting an international student this fall,  please contact  chris.macphee@crps.ca, steve.greene@crps.ca, laura.mooney@crps.ca or annette.young@crps.ca .

Some local host families share their experiences hosting an international student in these videos:
