PATs, diploma exams, and school final exams

Grade 9 have their first Provincial Assessment Test (PAT) next week on Monday, May 13 in English Language Arts. Once students have finished the test they will return to their regular classes for the rest of the day. Grade 12 diploma exams and the rest of the PATs are listed on our school calendar. Next week we will add the final school exam dates for Grades 10 and 11. The last day of regularly scheduled classes is Friday, June 14 and there will be exams until Wednesday, June 26.

More information can be found on this link from Alberta Education.

Holocaust Education Symposium

Grade 11 students are visiting the Holocaust Education Symposium in Calgary on Monday, May 13. Students will learn about the history of the Holocaust through the voice of a survivor or their descendant, watch a film about the genocide of Jewish people at the hands of the Nazis, and tour an exhibition called ‘Violins of Hope’. This is a rare opportunity for BCHS students to learn, in a powerful way, about the Holocaust and that despite it being during the Second World War its effects are still felt around the world today.

Exam Timetable

Here is the timetable for exams in June. These dates will also be on our website calendar. Students taking diploma exams are required to take them on the scheduled date as these dates are set by Alberta Education.  If students cannot take the other final exams on the date published; they need to talk to their teacher about rescheduling.
