Inreach / Outreach
WELCOME TO CRPS INREACH/OUTREACH
To provide a supportive environment that will give students the opportunity to develop the academic, social, and personal skills necessary to become life-long learners and productive members of society.
What is Inreach?
Canadian Rockies Educational Inreach/Outreach provides an alternative, flexible learning opportunity for students. With the support of a teacher, students work through unit modules from Alberta Distance Learning Centre (ADLC) in the Inreach classrooms at either CCHS or BCHS.
The following courses are offered through Inreach:
Calm 20, Science 14, Science 24, Science 10, Biology 20, Biology 30, Forensic Science 25, Forensic Science 35, Math 10-3, Math 10C, Math 20-3, Math 20-2, Math 20-1, General Psychology, Personal Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, World Geography.
These courses are offered in either print or online format using ADLC or teacher developed materials and they are marked onsite by the Inreach teacher.
English Language Arts (all grades), Social Studies (all levels), Grade 12 Math, Chemistry and Physics courses are delivered ADLC or Vista Virtual depending on the course chosen by the student.
Students enrolled in CCHS or BCHS are considered our Inreach (blended) students. Returning Grade 12 students and off campus students have the opportunity to upgrade courses with our Bow Valley College partner and are considered Outreach students.
Your first step is to meet with the principal or student services at BCHS or CCHS. You will be provided with a referral form and a transcript to bring to Inreach.

*** Parents/Guardians are encouraged to phone or email us with any questions concerning their child’s progress. Reports and grades will be available on Moodle.
HANDING IN WORK
Online course assignments can easily be submitted directly to the teacher. Completed printed assignment books and course materials will be handed to Renee or Liane. Kindly return materials promptly as many students share the same resources. You should not take more than 2 weeks to complete a module. Please ask Mrs. Macnamara or Mrs. Husdal if you need to look at your previous assignments. Marked assignments may not leave the library.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday- 8:20-3:20, Half day PD Fridays- 8:20 - 12:15
EXPECTATIONS AND ATTENDANCE
Attendance is taken daily. You are expected to work in the library unless you have prior permission from Mrs. Macnamara to work elsewhere in the school.
FOOD AND DRINK
While you may eat in the library it is expected that you will clean up after yourself or this privilege will be taken away.
Submitted modules and unit tests are worth 70% (each module may be weighted differently) while Midterm/Final Exams are worth 30% of the school mark.
Please let Mrs. Macnamara know ahead of time when you plan on writing your exam. Make sure you leave enough time to write your exam. If you need any special accommodations, let Mrs. Macnamara know ahead of time.
Grade 12 students will have their school based mark calculated as outlined above. The school based mark is worth 70% of the final grade. The Government Diploma Exam is written in January or June at CCHS or BCHS and this exam mark is worth the remaining 30% of the final grade. November and April Diploma exam sittings may be made with prior arrangements.

Teachers come from across Alberta.
Courses are available in print or online format.
You have until June 30, 2019 to finish your course.
Textbooks and resources:
Textbooks and print resources are available for borrowing from the library.
Resources are also available online.
Attendance is taken daily.
You have up to 90 days to submit your first assignment and have it marked or you will be withdrawn from the course.
You have up to 60 days to submit subsequent assignments and have them marked before being withdrawn.
You are expected to work in the library unless you have prior permission from Mrs. Husdal.
Teachers will send you an email letting you know what their office hours are. They will provide you with a phone number and email address to contact them. Some teachers also offer help sessions.
Food & drink:
Is allowed in the library. Please clean up after yourself.

Plagiarism is the practice of representing someone else's work or ideas as one's own. All incidents will be documented and are subject to the consequences outlined below:
The student is given zero scores on any work suspected of being plagiarized and given the opportunity to resubmit original work.
The student is given zero scores on any work suspected to being plagiarized and is not given the opportunity to resubmit original work. A letter is sent by the Principal to parents and school facilitators outlining this administrative practice and the consequences.
The student is removed from the course in which plagiarized work is suspected and notifications are put into the ADLC Student Information System barring future registration to the course in question. A withdrawal letter is sent by the Principal to parents and school facilitators.
Print assignments need to be completed in pen. Mrs. Husdal will scan your assignments and submit them electronically to your teacher for marking.
Assignments may also be done on-line.
Please ask Mrs. Husdal if you want to look at your previous print assignments. Marked assignments may not leave the library
Exams and quizzes:
Quizzes are usually done on-line
Please make arrangements with your teacher to write your exam. Let your teacher know if you want to do your exam on-line or in print. The exam will be sent to Mrs. Husdal.
Please let Mrs. Husdal know ahead of time when you plan on writing your exam so a quiet space can be set aside for you
Make sure you leave enough time to write your exam (Most exams give you 3 hours to write)
You are responsible for arranging to write your diploma (if applicable)
