Law Enforcement Bursary
This is a new bursary program that allows a selection committee from Protective Services to award a Law Enforcement Bursary to two local high school students that will be pursuing a criminal justice/policing program in the upcoming fall semester. The $2500 Law Enforcement Bursary will be awarded to two Grade 12 students who have graduated in 2016 and reside in Canmore.
Applicants must compose and submit a minimum 500 word essay on why they have chosen to pursue education that is related to criminal justice/policing and also focus on their leadership, volunteerism and good work ethic. In addition to the essay, students must provide proof of enrollment for the program they intend to participate in. The essay and proof of enrollment is due to the Town of Canmore by September 15, 2016. The John Helou Scholarship will award up to two Canadian youth with the financial support they need to overcome the financial obstacles that come with a personal or familial diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, enabling them to reach their full potential and become the next generation of MS leaders. The recipients must be enrolled in a science, technology, engineering or math undergraduate program. Recipients of the John Helou Scholarship will receive $6,250/year for four years to apply to tuition– for a total scholarship of $25,000.

Schulich Leader Scholarships are open to all graduating high school or Cégep students across Canada who have an interest in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) at one of ourpartner universities.
